Down at the Duckpond with Tonto the Tufted Duck - Edward Giles

Giles has been fascinated by "feathered" creatures with webbed feet since childhood. At age thirteen, he began breeding and keeping his own collection of waterfowl at his family home in Shropshire. After graduating from university, he decided to channel this passion into writing to encourage younger generations to engage with and appreciate the natural world. His work combines informative non-fiction with story-based narratives aimed at children.

GENRE: Children’s Non-fiction (Nature & Wildlife)

Blurb:

In the lively tournament of feathers and flight that's about to begin at the pond, Tonto is determined to leave every contestant behind. As the tournament proceeds, Tonto seems to be struggling with first place and continues to finish second. The books depicts the importance of not giving up, even when life keeps on giving you setbacks. Will Tonto be able to keep away from Pelican's tricks, dodge the Albatross' cheating tactics, breaking his own record of the longest dive?
