MIRRORED in TIME - Alan R Mann

It was not until his retirement that Alan Mann could realise the dream of writing a historical novel, and 'Mirrored in Time' was born. It's a poignant fictionalised account of the lives of one extended family in England and France, from the turn of the 20th century to the 1960s, particularly focusing on the remarkable parallels of two generations' experiences over the First and Second World Wars. Many of the themes that have influenced the period are, sadly, relevant today: the futility of war, social injustice, inequality and humankind's inability to learn the lessons of history.

GENRE: Historical Fiction

Blurb:

Born at the end of the 19th century, Thomas Harper's worst fears came true. He faced active duty in the First World War, only to witness his children drawn remoreselessly into the Second. However, out of the inevitable devastation came something more powerful - unquestioning love in all its manifestations - from dedicated care of the sick and injured, to the intense passion of unexpected romantic encounters lasting a lifetime. From his copious diaries, Thomas recorded his family's experiences.
